POSTERS urging people to love their park are on display in a Worcester park.

The posters in and around Gheluvelt Park promote the Love Your Park campaign and are the winning designs chosen after a competition at St George's CE Primary School, St George's Lane North.

The two designs, by Lauren O'Hara, six, and nine-year-old Sam Taylor, will now be seen by residents and visitors to the area. The pupils were also awarded with a brand new bike each.

Local policing officer for Arboretum PC Paul Green said: "This is an excellent way in which to draw the Love Your Park campaign to a close.

"The designs are great, really eye-catching, and will ensure the message to Protect, Respect and Enjoy Gheluvelt Park, is there as a future reminder to everyone."

The original posters and those of all of the finalists in the competition can now be viewed at the Duckworth Trust's Pumphouse Environ-mental Centre in the park.

The local policing team for the Arboretum launched the Love Your Park campaign on Valentine's Day to encourage people to Respect, Protect and Enjoy Gheluvelt Park - a popular amenity that has been enjoyed for more than 86 years. Love Your Park is a police led initiative bought about through issues raised by residents at various PACT (Partners And Communities Together) events.
