PLAYERS, officials and fans at Sixways will all be turning pink tomorrow as the Guinness Premiership offers Worcester women a weekend of rugby with a difference.
Tackled Pink is a nationwide event kicking off at all six premiership rugby matches this weekend, as the league teams up with UK support charity Breast Cancer Care Worcester Warriors have organised a variety of special pink-themed match day activities for Saturday's match against Bath, with women being offered tickets at a special price of £15. Warriors have pledged to give £4.25 of every ticket directly to Breast Cancer Care.
Kathy Leather, the Warriors' commercial director, said: "This is a great opportunity for rugby to see just how many ladies do attend matches each week, enjoy the game and show a good knowledge of the club and team.
"Saturday is all about showing your support for the 44,000 women and 300 men who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Today's game is a chance to wear pink and show your support whilst enjoying world-class entertainment."
The pink-clad Warriors staff will be running a Pink and Proud competition, with Saturday's best-dressed (in pink) supporters winning tickets to the Player Awards Dinner.
The matchday programme will have an decidedly pink-ish theme, and a special Pink Bar will be set up in the East Stand. Unusual additions to the South Stand will include Tina Iacovelli Accessories, I Do Nails, Perfect Brows, Virgin Vie and Stone Me.
Tickets for Saturdays' game are still available from the ticket office on 0870 990 5650.
