ANTIQUES expert Henry Sandon helped Worcester residents uncover the true value of their family heirlooms and prize possessions at a charity valuation day.
The Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Stephen Inman, was among those at the Guildhall yesterday.
"It was a fantastic day and people were queuing from 9.30am to come in and have their good valued," he said. "We don't know how much was raised yet, but it was a huge success." A team of experts from auctioners Bonhams was on hand at the event, offering their insights on glass, silver, jewellery, furniture, pictures, toys and clocks, among many other items.
Visitors paid £2 per item, all of which will go to the Mayor's charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Red Cross.
