GIFTED and talented pupils from Elgar Technology College, Worcester, have taken part classes to experience judo.
Selected students from years eight and nine were led by professional coach Keith Jones, of the Ni-CO Coaching Partnership. Under the County Sports Partnership, which is based at Droitwich, he coaches the sport to Olympic standard in schools. The sessions at Elgar introduced students to the sport and showed them the opportunities of taking it further.
Mr Jones led 40 judo sessions at Elgar with two groups during a 10-week programme which ended with a competition. Mr Jones, pictured above, said: "It is one of the best schools we have been in for many years. The behaviour, enthusiasm and manners of the students was exceptional and everybody enjoyed the sessions."
