What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare?
The words, lovers of literature will know, come from the pen of W H Davies and his popular poem Leisure'.
They are particularly appropriate to our report today about Worcester's hidden architectural treasures.
We say hidden' not because they are buried away in some remote part of the city but because they are not in the eye line of most of us, as we hurry our way through the days.
Taking a few minutes to stop, look upwards and stare is hugely rewarding.
We publish 10 photographs today of the gems on Worcester's skyline. How many of them would you associate with the modern-day shop fronts that sit below them?
Worcester has a homogenised 21st century look with the same high street stores sporting the same livery and logos as any other modern-day city centre.
But it is the remnants of the city's Georgian, Victorian and art deco architecture that make it stand out. Again, you will find such skylines in many towns and cities but each is unique.
It is definitely worth a look the next time you are going about your business in the city centre.
Take a rest from the hurly burly for a few moments and drink in the history that is above our doorsteps.
It might even make the working day seem that little bit brighter.
