A MAN from Pershore has been accused of fraud and incompetent work.
Leslie Smith, of Duffledown View in Upper Moore, has been charged with two offences relating to unlawful business practice.
Between April 8 and July 8 of last year, Smith is alleged to have been paid excessively for construction work and then failing to complete the work to a competent standard.
The alleged offence happened in Felindre, a village in Powys, Wales.
For this, he has been charged with recklessly engaging in a commercial practice which contravened the requirements of professional due diligence and which materially distorted, or was likely to material distort, the economic behaviour of the average consumer
Also in Felindre and during the same time period, Smith is alleged to have committed fraud by way of making a false representation, namely his identity.
The 24-year-old is also alleged to have lied about purchasing supplies when he had not, and claiming the costs for supplies had risen and that he would as such require additional payment despite having purportedly purchased the supplies already.
He is also said to have asked for additional payment from a client to subsidise work for other customers, with the intention of making a financial gain for himself.
Smith is due to appear at Llandrindod Wells Justice Centre today, Wednesday, September 14.
