A LEISURE centre swimming pool has reopened after months of work to replace slippery tiles.
Perdiswell Leisure Centre, on Bilford Road, re-opened its swimming pool at 6am this morning (Monday) to the public.
Swimmers have had to look elsewhere as the pool has been closed for 12 weeks for the replacement of poolside tiles which took place over the summer.
The first aqua aerobics class took place at the pool this week.

The pool is now said to have a new improved anti-slip surface for users of both the main eight-lane pool and the smaller multi-use pool.
The poolside changing rooms closed earlier, to allow for preliminary tile replacement on May 9.
Other facilities at the leisure centre, including the gym, exercise classes, outdoor pitches and tennis courts remained open throughout the summer.
The Council and Freedom Leisure, which operate the leisure centre, encouraged swimmers to use the Malvern Splash pool whilst the Perdiswell pool was closed.

Worcester City Council recently agreed to hand over up to £255,000 to Freedom Leisure, which runs Perdiswell Leisure Centre, St John’s Sports Centre and Nunnery Wood Sports Complex on its behalf, to help cover the soaring cost of gas and electricity.
Freedom Leisure revealed it expects bills to rise by as much as £620,000 in the next 12 months.
The deal went ahead despite criticism from councillors who labelled the council’s outsourced contract with Freedom Leisure a “money pit” and called for a ‘serious review’ into future agreements.
