HUNDREDS of people lined Worcester High Street for Worcestershire's proclamation of King Charles III - but Cathedral Square was left empty.

A huge TV screen had been set up in the square to live stream the event.

However, those who attended were able to fit into the High Street, outside the Guildhall, where they watched as the proclamation was made from the building's steps.

Worcester's High Street saw hundreds of people gather and cheer for King Charles III.

Many people said that they were unaware that the event was being live-streamed around the corner.

The proclamation began at 1pm on Sunday, September 11 as the High Sheriff of Worcestershire officially proclaimed King Charles III.

Crowds cheered and sang the first verse of the national anthem outside of the Guildhall.
