MUM in a million Sandra Spragg will receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers on Mothering Sunday after her artistic daughter won a Worcester News drawing competition.
Rebecca, aged five, came first in our contest - run with award-winning Worcester florist Beautiful Flowers - after drawing a picture of her pregnant mum, complete with baby. "I had no idea she had entered, so it was a bit of a shock," said the 42-year-old, of Windermere Drive, Warndon, Worcester. "It's lovely. She's always drawing."
Miss Spragg said Rebecca cannot wait to have a brother or sister when the baby, which is due in three weeks, arrives.
"She won't let me do anything, not even bend to put my socks on," she added. "She thinks it will hurt the baby.
"As I'm pregnant she washes up and does the floor if the dog comes in with mucky paws. She's going to be a second mother, I think."
The Worcester News received about 50 entries for the contest, which was launched last week. All readers had to do was to draw a picture of their mum for the chance to win a bouquet worth £50, to be delivered on Mother's Day - tomorrow (don't forget!).
Eleven-year-old Hollie Cook's entry came in second place, winning mum Melanie a £30 bouquet.
"She's lovely, bless her," said the 42-year-old, of Leslie Avenue in Claines, Worcester.
"I'm really pleased for her, she will be chuffed."
Four-year-old Joceline Humphries, of Norfolk Close in Dines Green, Worcester, came in third place, winning her 22-year-old mum Laura a £20 bouquet.
