ONE of Britain's best-known High Street stores is recruiting 100 local people for its new shop on a Malvern retail park.

Marks and Spencer will be opening its store off Roman Way, Malvern Link, in June, and has full and part-time vacancies in its food, womenswear, home, lingerie, childrenswear and menswear sections as well as the café.

The JobCentre in Portland Road, Malvern, is holding an open day on Thursday, March 13, between 10am and 2pm for anyone interested in working at the shop can talk to the M&S recruitment team and find out more about the range of jobs available.

The jobs up for grabs are permanent with contracts ranging from 16 to 37.5 hours a week and offer flexible hours including day, evening and weekend shifts.

Gareth Niblett of JobCentre Plus said: "This is an exciting time for Malvern, as a major retailer moves into the town. Anyone who is interested in these jobs is welcome to call in at the open day.

The key requirements are good customer service skills and enjoying working as part of a team. Retail experience is not needed."
