Meanwhile, people living in Brookthorpe Close, near where the incident happened, complained of other anti-social behaviour, including fly-tipping and suspected drug dealing outside their homes.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Around 5.40am on Sunday (28 August) we received reports of an assault at a property on Winstone Drive, Worcester.
"A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious, non-life threatening, injuries.
"Two men from Worcester, aged 18 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in police custody."
A police spokesperson added: "Officers investigating the assault on Winstone Drive carried enquires at a property on Brookthorpe Close. A scene guard remained in place while officers carried out their enquires."
One woman from Brookthorpe Close, who declined to be identified, said she heard somebody shouting 'help!' after she had gone to bed.
"I looked out of the window but could not see anything," she said.
She said an officer later came to her door and told her there had been an assault as police made enquiries.
Another resident said: "There were lots of bobbies here on Sunday. It's quite a peaceful area. We don't normally get that around here."
A man, who did not wish to be named, said police arrived in the early hours of Sunday and parked near an alley near Brookthorpe Close, capturing their arrival on his CCTV system.
"A police car pulled up and two police officers ran out. It can be a nightmare around here sometimes. The worst thing is the drug dealing. We try and look after each other. I get on okay with most of my neighbours," he said.
A group of residents also raised concerns about mounting piles of rubbish including a shopping trolley, traffic cone and other items.
A spokesperson for Worcester City Council said: “Although this fly-tipping has taken place on private land, a city council team has been out this afternoon and has now removed it.
"We intend to discuss this matter with the landlord, as this is not the first time that fly-tipping has occurred at this location.”
