BUDDING young popstars at a Pershore school took to the stage in an X Factor-style contest.
Fifteen-year-old Lewis Sheen was triumphant in the Pershore High School competition, which saw a panel of judges, including a Simon Cowell wannabe, grill contestants.
Headteacher Clive Corbett said: "It was great fun. We went through a process of auditions and got it down to eight finalists, which then went down to four, and eventually one.
"We invited parents and students to come along to a special evening, whereby the pupils performed and were judged. Families and friends brought along posters and t-shirts, just like on X Factor, and everyone had a great time."
Mr Corbett said the event was organised by Laura Brookes, head of music, and teacher Helen Witherick.
