FORMER Steeleye Span member Maddy Prior is preparing to perform in Worcester.
Prior will be at Huntingdon Hall, with Benji Kirkpatrick and Giles Lewin, on Thursday, March 13. Long acknowledged as one of the most important voices in English folk music, Prior's solo has taken many twists and turns - throughout which she has continued to explore new ground.
As songwriter, she is inspired by myths and legends of the British Isles and continually interprets traditional music in her own unique way. Her most recent UK tour has been described as a truly interactive affair, with daily video footage of her adventures posted on her website. The Worcester show coincides with the release of her latest album, Seven For Old England. For tickets, priced £15, call the Worcester Live box office on 01905 611427.
