LIGHTweight kilts, charcoal grey and chocolate brown - grooms getting married this year are spoilt for choice.

The third Worcester News Three Counties Bridal Show is being held at the Three Counties Showground on Sunday, March 9.

On hand for the first time will be staff from the Worcester branch of Slater Menswear, helping soon-to-be married men chose the perfect wedding suits.

Store manager Ian McTavish said menswear was often considered secondary to the bride's dress - but not necessarily for the groom.

He said: "This year, particularly this season, charcoal and chocolate remain popular but there are also a lot of bright-coloured accessories coming through - fushias, turquoise and letter-box red"

"Prince Edward-style suits are very popular but with a more contemporary look. One thing we do offer is different styles in varying colours so every member of the wedding party, from young groom to older relatives, can feel comfortable."

As a Scottish company, Slater is an expert on kilts, offering all the tartans as well as plain black.

Mr McTavish said: "At the moment we have a few offers. Students get a 20 per cent discount on all Highland wear and when you hire five outfits you get the most expensive free."

There will be more than 100 exhibitions stands at the Three Counties Bridal Show, selling everything from wedding gowns, suits and bridesmaid's dresses to invitations, favours and flowers.

There will also be catwalk shows, displaying all the 2008/09 wedding trends, at noon and 2pm.

The fair will be held in the showground's Severn Hall, which is accessible through the yellow gate, between 11am to 3.30pm.

Both entry and parking is free. Visitors are advised to take cash or cheques if they intend to buy anything as credit cards are not accepted.
