An arrest has been made following a fatal crash which saw a car sink into a river.
A 33-year-old man from Worcester has died after a silver BMW and a red Vauxhall Astra collided on Eckington Bridge in the early hours of this morning (Friday August 26).
West Mercia Police officers recovered the man from the river but he was confirmed dead at the scene and his next of kin have since been informed.
Another man, 38, climbed out of water and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving.
He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
Another man, who had been travelling in the Astra, suffered minor injuries.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
