WAR veteran John Hewlett made his final journey today after his death earlier this month.
Friends and family gathered at Worcester Cathedral for hymns and prayers, with the 92-year-old's coffin displaying the White Ensign flag and the MBE he had been awarded just hours before he passed away, alongside the medals he wore proudly for many years.
The congregation left the cathedral to Land of Hope and Glory before, as a further sign of respect, the Last post was played at the war memorial.
A committal then took place at Worcester Crematorium.
