THERE was no sign of a bat signal - but a police officer had a shock when he discovered a bat hiding in his bathroom.
Inspector Karl Pierpoint spoke of his shock at finding the winged mammal in this home saying: "When you go for a shower after a home work out and have company."
He can be seen pointing out the bat in the corner of his bathroom in the picture, with a second showing a close-up of the animal.
Inspector Pierpoint said the bat managed to get into the home overnight on Tuesday.

He said: "It got in through a small opening in the bathroom window.
"I discovered it the next morning and it was happily hanging there all day. I knew they are protected so didn’t want to disturb it and it left of its own accord at dusk yesterday.
"Living in a rural setting we often see bats at night but it is not so common to find one hanging from the bathroom ceiling when showering."
"I placed it on Twitter as some light-hearted engagement and had lots of good advice and lots of people saying they would freak out."
Twitter followers had told him to leave a window open and the bat would make its own way out of the bathroom.
Inspector Pierpoint added the bat left the bathroom and out the window later that evening.
