A Droitwich curry house has been named one of the country's top restaurants.
Gurkha Majestic Dining has been named the best Nepalese restaurant at the English Curry Awards 2022.
The team at the Worcester Road eatery joined more than 350 guests at the awards ceremony on Monday, August 22, at the NEC in Birmingham.
Speaking after picking up the prize, a manager at the restaurant said: “It is an amazing achievement.
“It encourages us to do even more for our customers, we want to give even better food to our lovely customers who always dine with us, it motivates us to do more.
“We would like to thank each and every one of our chefs, dearest customers, and front-of-the-house team who have actually made this possible.
“All our valuable customers, thank you for your help and support towards us since the beginning, without you all it would have not been possible.
“We are planning to celebrate with our customers next week, as a gesture of their help and support.”
The English Curry Awards, in its eleventh year, aim to recognise the “hard work, determination, impeccable service and efforts” of the country’s best curry establishments.
Monday’s black-tie event was hosted by presenter Tommy Sandhu and saw tributes paid to curry legend and founder of the awards, Enam Ali MBE, who played a huge role in shaping the industry and recently passed, aged 61, on July 17.
The ceremony was organised by Oceanic Consulting.
Established in 2006, the firm specialises in promoting campaigns and events to Britain’s ethnically diverse market, including the British Muslim Awards and English Asian Business Awards.
Company director, Yasmin Mahmood, said: “We are honoured and delighted to have such great finalists and winners representing the English curry industry and enhancing its reputation nationally and internationally.
“Each one of them being a true reflection of the boundless talent in this industry. Congratulations to all finalists and winners!”
