At the first meeting of 2008, about 25 members and guests enjoyed an entertaining evening as co-founder Peter Reynolds presented an illustrated travelogue of his recent trek based in Paleochora, South West Crete. Located on a small peninsula, some 75kms south of the old Venetian town of Chania, Paleochora has been a popular village of 2000 inhabitants for many years, due to its location, climate, good beaches and access to other villages along the coast by ferry and bus. Peter described a series of varied day walks of 15kms - 20kms. The next meeting of the club is on Thursday, at the Worcester Golf and Country Club, Bransford Road, Worcester. The theme is Travels on Leros. Anyone wishing to come along and enjoy a sample of the Greek life will be made welcome. For details visit wahc.org.uk or call chairman David Leggott on 01905-21886.
