The January meeting began with a welcome from Mrs Jean Heywood.
The line dancing group commenced on January 24, and the Walking Group on February 26. We were pleased to welcome Mr John Walton again, who was to talk about Morocco, Land Of The Berbers.
Mr Walton took six of his King's School students and paired them with six from the Blind College, on a trek to Morocco.
They trekked through the Atlas Mountains and down into the Sahara Desert. We were shown some beautiful photographs of the fantastic rock formations, huge sand dunes and the Moroccan countryside.
Mr Walton's video emphasised the close camaraderie of care and trust achieved by the pairs of students.
The students also learned about the Berbers and their way of life, and enjoyed the company of those they met.
