Due to the new president being unwell Ruby Ruff stood in and welcome members to the January meeting. A previous member was welcomed and a report on Mrs Betty Gardner's recovery in hospital was given. A card signed by all would be given to her husband. We all hope for Betty's return to health.
The members had enjoyed the lunch at Spires so much that a show of hands was in favour of another get-together there.
Notices of events were on the board and we were reminded to read and add our names to any we wished to attend.
Our speaker was the ever popular Philip from the library with more slides of old St John's. Cries of ooooh' and aaaah' greeted photographs of well-remembered places and changes were marvelled at. We in St John's are so fortunate in having such an enthusiastic librarian, as the vote of thanks and applause confirmed.
The February meeting was a social afternoon, with members asked to bring a childhood photograph for a competition and a member regaling us with her tales of an exotic holiday.
