MORE than 30 Easter eggs are waiting to be snapped up by generous drinkers from pubs across Worcester.

The chocolate prizes have been placed in position for a big raffle held by Worcester Lions Club to raise money for local charities.

Joy Haffner, Worcester Lions Club member, said it was one of their successful annual fund-raisers.

"We hope Worcester residents will give us their continued support and buy a raffle ticket if they see one of our Easter eggs," she said.

"We had a successful Easter Egg Appeal last year and with the help of the landlords and landladies concerned we hope to do even better this year."

Over the last few weeks the club has raised £1,000 for St Richards, £1,000 for Noah's Ark and £1,000 for Leukaemia CARE.

Worcester pubs taking part this year include the Prince of Wales, Warndon, the Berkeley Arms on Spetchley Road, Blackpole Inn on Blackpole Road, the Ketch Inn on Bath Road and Sebright Arms on London Road.
