On Wednesday 6th February, year 8 students from Elgar Technology College were given the challenge to put on a Catwalk fashion show as part of their Enterprise Day.
The students were given the duration of the school day to design and make outfits and present them as a Catwalk fashion show in front of their year group and staff. Students utilised skills learnt through a variety of subjects to produce creative, innovative designs portrayed through many mediums including a Wedding Scene, Recycling, Rich and Poor and the Best of British. Music, ICT and stage lighting were used to create a high definition and energy filled presentation.
John Bullock, co-ordinator of Enterprise at Elgar Technology College, said "It was fantastic to see the students working together with their friends and staff to produce such a high quality and exciting event. It was evident that everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the day and they should be very proud of their success."
Enterprise is an integral part of the National Curriculum and gives students an opportunity to take risks and prepare themselves for the world in which they will find themselves once they leave school life. These are exciting times for the school with specialised diplomas being introduced into the curriculum allowing students a tailored education.
