A MAN goaded a police officer to chase him before taking a wrong turn down a dead end.
Alexander Marshall threw an object at a police vehicle in Worcester's Sansome Walk, before spitting at it and running off, the city's magistrates court was told.
Marie Watton, prosecuting, said when the officer got out, the 21-year-old, of Southfield Street in the Arboretum, Worcester, carried on running.
"The male was shouting 'come on, come on' and was waving his arms around and gesturing to the officer," she said.
Miss Watton said Marshall then ran down a dead end.
She added: "The male then did struggle to try and get away from the officer, however, he was able to take him to the ground and handcuff him."
The part-time chef, who was unrepresented in court, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in the early hours of Saturday, February 10 last year.
He was fined £250 and must pay £60 court costs.
