THERE has been a changing of the guard at the Army careers information office in Worcester city centre.
Sergeant Gary Leech has left his post after two years working at the recruitment office in Foregate Street, during which time he helped contribute to a record intake of enlistments. The 35-year-old from Derby who serves with 2nd Battalion Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters) has now moved to Belfast with the regiment.
Senior recruiter warrant officer Lloyd Bath said: "He has really enjoyed his time here and found great job satisfaction in watching youngsters enlist and come back for a chat as fully fledged soldiers. He was crucial to the success of the office in 2006 and a record-breaking year in 2007."
Sgt Leech has been replaced by Sgt Mick Herbert, also of the Mercians.
