FAMILIES visiting Worcestershire County Council's County Museum on Mother's Day will have a chance to celebrate the special occassion with a load of mummies.
Children will have a chance to wrap an Egyptian mummy, learn about hieroglyphics, and take part in a trail at a special event at the museum based at Hartlebury Castle.
The county council's visitor services officer Rachel Robinson said: "This is a new take on the traditional Mother's Day, but one that we are sure will be fun for all the family."
Museum volunteer Cedric Lewis has carved a wooden sarcophagus, or mummy case, which children will be able to decorate on the day, while there will also be an opportunity for people to make their own mummy a Mother's Day card and gift.
Meanwhile, Julie Cooper will tell tales about mothers through the ages from Egyptian goddesses to Victorian mothers.
The event starts at 11am and runs until 5pm on Sunday, March 2.
