SEVERAL students from Worcester Sixth form said they had secured a place at their dream university after opening their A-level results yesterday.
Students were welcomed back to their school with celebratory balloons and a selection of nibbles as they collected their A-level results.
Parents were beaming over their children as they found out they had secured their chosen place at university and apprenticeships.
Roch Mirski, aged 17, said he had set his sights on Cambridge university and admitted to feeling relieved when he received his A-level results.
He said: "It was my dream to get into Cambridge University.
"I've been thinking about it since primary school, so it's very satisfying.
"I feel relieved that I don't have to think about it anymore."
His mum Kasia Mirska, who is originally from Poland, said: "I'm very happy and proud and slightly nervous to send him away.

"In my country, we start school at six or seven, I finished high school at 20, and he's already leaving at 18."
Daniel Espiritu, 18, achieved four A*'s and earned a spot at Oxford university to study Biochem.
Mr Espiritu said: "I was pleasantly surprised.
"I was aiming for 4 A*'s but once I went through the exams I wasn't sure if I was going to get those grades.
"I was quite nervous, this is the first set of exams I have done."
His dad Dan said: "I was a bit nervous for him, but I'm extremely proud of all of his hard work."
Some students even turned up to results day in suits in order to mark the special occasion.
Ben Andrews and his friends, who were all suited and booted, said they were pleased with the grades they had achieved.
Their PE teacher Wes Davies received a special shout-out and has even been penned as 'the best teacher in the world.'
Mr Andrews said: "We thought we would look smart for the occasion.
"Thanks to Wes Davies - our PE teacher.
"He's the best PE teacher in the world.
"I would not have got my grade if it wasn't for him."
Emmanuel Adesola, who achieved four A*'s said he always wanted to get into a top university and was delighted to be accepted by Cambridge Univesity.
He said: "Since I was little, I've always wanted to go to either Oxford or Cambridge, but I've always geared a little more towards Cambridge.
"I'm grateful to God, I prayed before and after my exams and I am so happy that my hard work paid off.
"My parents are so proud and happy.
"In the future, I want to work for a top tech company or make my own software and start my own company."
Ed Senior, principal, said: “I am immensely proud of what our students have achieved this year. Their excellent results in both A Level and Applied subjects reflect their hard work, commitment and ability.
"Our students, like others across the country, have faced and overcome unprecedented challenges over the last two years to complete their studies and secure university places, apprenticeships or employment."
