ONE year on and the former Kays site is still empty.
This week Worcester City Council unveiled the results of its public consultation which showed local people wanted to keep the Bransford Road site as employment land.
The council has even suggested reinstating an unmanned railway station - or 'halt' - on the site, benefitting commuters in St John's.
However the owner of the site, Littlewoods Shop Direct, feel the only sensible option is to sell it for housing, and claims its scheme also has the backing of local people.
With a bid by St John's House Surgery to use part of the land for a new GP practice still on the table, the future of the site remains uncertain.
