THE Three Counties Bridal Show catwalk looks set to inspire and impress.
There will be two fashion shows at the Worcester News fair, being held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern on Sunday, March 9.
Hundreds of couples, as well as excited bridesmaids, are expected to visit the fair, which last year attracted more than 1,500 visitors, and most will want to catch a glimpse of the noon and 2pm fashion shows. They are being organised by Sarah Bowman, manager of Pure Bridal and Formal Image at A to Z Wedding Services based in Stourport-on-Severn.
"It's a lot of hard work but well worth it," said Miss Bowman. "We want to create a romantic, boutique mood which the audience will enjoy while watching the shows." There will be more than 100 exhibition stands at the fair, selling everything from bridal gowns, suits and bridesmaid dresses to invitations, favours and flowers.
The catwalk will showcase the 2008/09 wedding trends, which according to Miss Bowman revolve around a back to basics theme.
"For brides, taffeta is coming through strong," she said. "There are elegant designs, along with the idea that less is more. There is some sparkle around but it's understated."
Miss Bowman said men will once again be opting for chocolate brown suits, as well as contemporary versions of the traditional tails. As for bridesmaids, pinks are as popular as ever, but there is also a lot of sage green and burnt orange around."
The Worcester News Three Counties Bridal Show will take place in the showground's Severn Hall, accessible through the yellow gate, between 11am to 3.30pm.
Both entry and parking is free. Visitors are advised to take cash or cheques if they intend to purchase.
