GUITARIST Stefan Grossman inspired thousands of musicians to turn professional.
The New York-born performer, well known as an author and publisher of guitar tuition books and videos, is performing at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall in March.
A student of gospel singer/guitarist Rev Gary Davis, Grossman spent his teenage years absorbing everything he could about acoustic blues. After school, he studied with other country blues guitarists: Mississippi John Hurt, Son House, Skip James, Mance Lipscomb and Fred McDowell.
In the early 1960s, he formed the Even Dozen Jug Band before moving to the UK, where he co-founded Kicking Mule Records with Ed Denson. Recently, he has concentrated on his music tuition and remains one of the world's foremost authorities on acoustic blues guitar.
For tickets to see Grossman on Saturday, March 8, call the Worcester Live box office on 01905 611427 or visit www.worcesterlive.co.uk.
