TWO very versatile musicians will bring foot-stomping sounds to Worcester next month.
Greg Lawson and Phil Alexander play the accordion and violin in such a way critics heap praise upon them and describe their shows as sizzling, seductive, passionate and stylish.
The pair are set to perform at the Worcester Arts Workshop on Saturday, March 1, in a tour supported by Worcestershire's rural touring scheme Shindig.
Lawson and Alexander give traditional tunes a new twist, inspired by music from Scotland, Ireland, Brazil and Finland. Audiences should expect impressive seductive waltzes, driving Balkan dances, heart-stopping tangos and more.
Alexander is the driving force behind the hugely successful group Moishe's Bagel. He is also a linchpin of festival favourites Salsa Celtica, who were recently nominated for three Radio 2 folk awards. Lawson is a classical musician who channels his talent into world and folk music, but still emerges with a sound all of his own.
