THE finishing touches are being added to a city supermarket due to open this week.
Lidl in Droitwich Road, Worcester, was a hive of activity today (Tuesday) as last-minute work continued on the supermarket ahead of the opening this Thursday.

The store is due to open to customers from 8am on Thursday according to a sign in the car park, near the entrance.
Meanwhile, the car park was being cleaned using a jet wash, signs were being screwed into place and chain link fencing near the entrance was being taken down.
Banner signs outside that caused readers some confusion because they said 'big on Droitwich' (when the store is in Worcester) have been amended.
The word 'Droitwich' has since been covered up on the orange signs near the main road.
A footpath leads off the main Droitwich Road into the store's car park, giving easy access for pedestrians.
When it opens, it will be the city's third Lidl supermarket. Lidl already has stores in Blackpole and Newtown Road.
The new store, which is still behind a chain-link fence, has had all the parking bays painted and the pedestrian crossing marked out.
The distinctive external signs have also already been fitted and even shopping trolleys are arranged neatly outside, ready for staff to welcome the first customers.
Around 40 full and part-time jobs are understood to have been created.
Contractor Benniman Construction moved onto the site, on the car park of JVC Castings, Worcester, in June 2021.
The work has involved demolishing a small underused part of the casting specialists' factory and moving the staff car park to the side to make way for the new supermarket.
The site received planning permission from Worcester City Council in 2020.
The 2,200 square metre supermarket will include a bakery and self-service checkouts.
A 110-space car park including six disabled bays and eight parent and child spaces is forming part of the site.
The existing car park to the front of JVM Castings is being moved to the side with a total of 125 car parking spaces provided for the factory.
