A trio of elderly cats left to ‘fend for themselves’ are in need of a new home.
RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire is looking to rehome three cats rescued from poor conditions after their owner passed away.
Colin, Sidney and Walter had been surviving off table scraps and have only ever had each other as company.
A RSPCA Worcester spokesperson said: “Colin, Sidney and Walter haven't had the best of lives.
“They have been rescued from extremely poor conditions after their owner passed away.
“From what we can gather, these boys have been fed occasional table scraps but mainly had to fend for themselves, and they have never in their lives known the security of a loving home and a warm bed.
“Yet amazingly, though undoubtedly nervous, they do still show some trust in humans.”
The branch is looking to rehome all three together and is confident they will make ideal pets, given the proper care.
“We feel these lovely older gents are ready to move on to find their forever home, we just desperately hope we don't have to separate them,” added the spokesperson.
“We know it is a huge ask. We know that taking on three older cats who have never lived indoors properly is a huge commitment.
“Yet these boys really do deserve a chance.
“They have lovely, gentle natures, they all use their litter trays and honestly, it is like they are asking us to just find them a comfortable retirement home where they will be no trouble and will even enjoy some fuss once they decompress and learn to relax in their new environment.”
The cats have required some dental work and had upset stomachs following the transition onto good quality cat food.
However, vets have found no other issues and RSPCA staff believe they will be fine living with other animals.
They also think that they would be comfortable with older children.
