A Worcestershire primary school has achieved a "good" rating from Ofsted in all areas as their first inspection result.

Inspectors praised Bretforton Village School for its sense of community, pupil behaviour and support from parents and carers.

A spokesperson for Ofsted said: "Strong, stable leadership has successfully improved the quality of education across the school.

"Step by step, leaders have developed a shared vision for the school, based on clear values.

"They set high expectations for pupils’ behaviour and conduct."

"Pupils enjoy learning and the subjects they study. The curriculum sets out the knowledge and skills pupils will learn."

Inspectors found that while some subjects were more developed than others, leaders are consistently reviewing and revising the school's curriculum.

Ofsted found that staff think about how to teach lessons in the most engaging way and that it is almost always "purposeful and interesting".

A spokesperson added: "They adapt instructions and tasks so that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are successful and make progress.

"Staff show a deep understanding of pupils with additional needs.

"Similarly, pupils are considerate and supportive of their peers who need extra help. Classrooms are inclusive places."

Ofsted suggested improvements for the school involving its curriculum and some subject-specific knowledge.

Kevin Riley, Head of School at Bretforton Village School, said: "Everyone has worked tirelessly over the past few years to improve every aspect of the school, and I am delighted that this has been reflected in these good gradings for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and our early years provision.

"We have proven that we are able to provide a high-quality education for the children in our village and beyond.

"We are especially pleased that they highlighted the excellent behaviour of the children and their positive attitudes to learning, as well as our ongoing commitment to outdoor education and environmental work.

"As the only school in the area to have achieved seven Evo Green Flag awards, we feel our efforts in this area have rightly been recognised.

"Moving forward, we will continue to refine our curriculum and offer an even greater range of opportunities to our children, as part of Bengworth Multi-academy Trust."
