Over the last two nights vehicles in Sudeley Avenue, Ludlow Avenue, and Brockhampton Close have fallen prey to the thief or thieves.
West Mercia Police is stepping up patrols on foot and bike to catch the offenders.
DI Dave Knight, based at Worcester Police Station, said: "A couple of cars were targeted last night with wallets taken from both.
"On one a mobile phone was left in plain sight but was not stolen which gives the impression that cash is king with this thief. They may also be concerned that the mobile could be tracked.
"I’m asking residents to keep a watchful eye out and report anything suspicious to us, and to please not leave anything of value in vehicles.
"I suspect that the offender is local and we will be working hard to identify them and bring them to justice through targeted patrols on foot, and using bicycles."
Those with information any offences can call 101. In the event of a crime being in progress, people are asked to dial 999.
