THE grieving husband of a mum-of-three who plunged to her death after a night in Worcester has backed a fresh police appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Karl Burkes said he and his young children desperately need to know how his wife Louise came to fall through a fence behind Drummonds bar in New Street on to a footpath in City Walls Road, fracturing her skull.

He has urged anyone who was in Drummonds on the night of Friday, November 30, and into the early hours of Saturday, December 1, when his wife fell at about 1am, to help his family by coming forward.

He said: "It's very important for us to find out exactly what happened so that we can have some closure.

"If there's anybody out there that's got anything that they haven't told the police, please do so, because at the end of the day we need to find out what happened and any little piece of information may very well be useful."

Mr Burkes said his 40-year-old wife had gone to Drummonds with friends because she knew rock cover band AKA were performing.

"Me and Lou had seen them before, I think we'd even seen them there before and we enjoyed them, so that was one of the reasons that they went," added the 41-year-old, of Swan Drive, Droitwich.

Last month Mr Burkes described the family's loss as an emotional "nightmare".

"I want people to know that Louise was a happy, beautiful, wonderful wife with everything to live for," the told your Worcester News.

Police investigating the unexplained death have urged anyone who was in the outside patio area at Drummonds after midnight and into the early hours, who have not already been spoken to, to come forward.

Detective Inspector Adrian Todd said: "Throughout the police investigation to date we have spoken to many, many people who were at Drummonds on that night.

"However, we know that there are some people who were on the patio after midnight that have not yet contacted police. These people could hold vital information into Louise Burkes' death and I would ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.

"In order to help with people's recollection, it may help them to know that a band called AKA' were playing at Drummonds on that particular evening."

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman from Drummonds added: "It's very heartening all the help that the customers have given so far, but we would urge anyone who was present on the night, or anyone who can help to contact the police with that information."

A man arrested in connection with the investigation is currently on police bail while enquiries continue.
