Malvern St James' school choir is pictured leaving for Italy where it spent the half-term holiday in some of the most famous venues. The choir visited the Teatro del Sale and the Duomo in Florence, the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Ancient Pantheon in Rome. The group, 40 singers in all, were accompanied by Malvern St James' director of music Lynne Lindner, herself an accomplished soprano. She said: "It is vital that we inspire our pupils, teaching them is not enough. Singing Puccini in the Pantheon or Rossini in Teatro del Sale makes the connections for them."
