A SPRING concert is to take place at a Malvern school this month as part of a series of professional events.
On Sunday, February 24, violinist, Louise Vale, accompanied by Alan MacLean, will perform at Malvern St James.
A spokesman said: "Louise plays an exceptionally fine violin made by her father. Robert Vale's craftsmanship was recognised when he won a Gold Medal at the international competition for violin-makers in Mittenwald, Aust-ria. Louise has chosen an exciting programme to include Beethoven's Sonata in D Major and the rarely heard violin and piano arrangement of Five Scenes from Cinderella by Prokofiev and his march from The Love for Three Oranges. After the interval, Elgar's beautiful and haunting Sonata in E Minor will conclude the recital."
Louise Vale has appeared in the Three Choirs Festival and The Autumn in Malvern Festival.
Alan MacLean is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music where he received the award for the most outstanding student. He has accompanied many leading instrumentalists and his career has included solo recitals and concerto performances.
Tickets for the Malvern St James Spring Concert, which starts at 7.30pm, are available from Malvern St James on 01684 564609 or e-mail music@ malvernstjames.co.uk
