YOUNGSTERS from a Worcester estate spent a day sprucing up the area where they live.
More than 50 children turned up to the Tidy Tolly day held by Worcester Community Housing in Tolladine on Thursday, February 14. Tolladine estate manager Kelly Hibbert said: "The day was fantastic and we had such a good turn-out. We had enough teams to cover the whole of the area and we had bags and bags of rubbish by the end of the day.
"We want to do this every three months. It makes it a much nicer place to live and it shows children that if they throw rubbish on the floor, at some stage they are going to be picking it up too."
Miss Hibbert said they would recycle a lot of the litter they had collected.
Everyone taking part in the event, which was supported by Worcester City Council, the Duckworth Trust and West Mercia police, was given lunch thanks to Rose Avenue Chip Shop and Francis Bros.
