TWO men who had been accused of raping a child have been cleared of all charges.
Leslie Butler, 68, of Cruxwell Street, Bromyard, and Sidney Johns, 57, of Winslow Road, Bromyard, were each cleared of two counts of buggery and a count of rape at Worcester Crown Court today.
The defendants were alleged to have committed sexual activity with the same child between December 12, 1989, and December 12, 1991.
The sexual activity was alleged to have taken place with the victim when she was under 16 - as she was younger than 10 during that period.
During the trial Matthew Barnes prosecuted, with Giles Nelson defending Butler and Sam Jones defending Johns.
The trial was heard by Recorder Martin Butterworth.
