HISTORY came to life in Worcester city centre at the weekend.
While modern life went on around them, Napoleonic soldiers mixed with Civil War militia men and Second World War troops shared cups of tea with characters from the Tudor times.
The Worcester Re-enactors' Living History event, held at the Guildhall in Worcester High Street, and Tudor House in Friar Street, attracted hundreds of shoppers on Saturday.
Organiser Brian Bullock dressed as a French soldier who would have fought against the English in the 19th century. "The public love it," he said. "If you give them a history book they will read it. But bring history to life and they can see it, hear it and touch it."
