MALVERN Hills Conservators have embraced a move to create greater openness within the organisation and become more interactive with members of the public.
Members of the administration and resources committee welcomed a change of policy, suggested by director Ian Rowat, that would allow minutes of board and committee meetings to be put on its website within days of the meetings.
Mr Rowat pointed out that at the time of writing his report for the committee, the board minutes on the website were four months out of date.
In the past minutes were written up a few days after a meeting and sent to the chairman of the committee for approval but not publicised until they were ratified by the whole board.
Mr Rowat said the committee members realised that there was no point in having out of date information on the website. "In future, as soon as the chairman of the committee and the chairman of the board Ray Roberts, who runs the website anyway, have seen them they will go on the website.
"Then the public will have notice of what we are meeting about and they can come along to the next meeting. It means the organisation will become more interactive."
Mr Rowat said comments and ideas from the public could be very helpful.
