A PHOTOGRAPHY exhibition showcasing skateboarding as an art is open in Worcester.
Throughout February, Worcester-based photographer Chris Johnson is exhibiting work at the Spine Skate Shop & Gallery in the Hopmarket, Worcester.
Mr Johnson, a contributor to national skateboard magazine Sidewalk, has amassed an impressive collection of skaters at work and at rest. The photographs on display are presented in a range of mediums from black and white 120 film to the latest digital formats, appealing to photography and skateboard enthusiasts alike.
"The exhibition concentrates on a broad cross section of images which highlight skateboarding both professionally and as an art form within its own right," said Mr Johnson.
Owner of Spine Chris Bourke said: "The gallery at Spine has been running for nearly a year now and this is its first exhibition of skateboard photography, which is a natural fit for the space. It's great for the people who use the shop to see large prints of images that have appeared in the magazines."
The exhibition, entitled Sensation Unsurpassed, is on display until March.
