A 21-YEAR-OLD woman was seen to pick-pocket a man by an off-duty police officer, a court heard.
Gemma Peach approached the 61-year-old from behind in Rainbow Hill, Worcester, and reached into his pocket, taking a pouch of tobacco.
She was spotted by an off-duty police officer who was driving past in his car.
Emma Lile, prosecuting at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday, said Peach, of Little Hill, Droitwich, told police she had intended to ask the man for a couple of Rizlas, but took the tobacco instead.
She admitted a charge of theft and said she didn't know why she had done it.
The court heard that Peach was in breach of a suspended sentence imposed by the crown court. Magistrates committed her for sentence at the crown court on Friday, March 14.
She was released on conditional bail until then.
