AN ASSORTMENT of angels, fairies and famous characters from fiction took to the turf in Worcester to raise money for a cancer charity.
All 17 Year Six girls from the Grange School, Claines, took part in a fancy dress lunchtime soccer match in aid of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity, one of several local charities recently adopted and supported by the school.
The match was held on the school's new Astroturf pitch, and by charging their classmates a small sum to watch and cheer them on, the girls raised a total of £80.
The game ended in a resounding 0-0 draw, a fitting result from two evenly-matched teams.
