FLOOD heroes who helped people hit by torrential rain will receive more than £1,500 thanks to a charity sale in their honour.
The cash was raised at the first ever Big Bargain Bazaar at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern on Wednesday.
The money will be divided equally between the County Air Ambulance and Mercia Inshore Search and Rescue who helped so many people during the floods.
Guests included Russell Jones, a flying doctor, trapeze artist and pilates teacher and radio star Trevor Harrison, of Kinnersley, who plays Eddie Grundy in Radio 4 series the Archers.
At least 400 people attended the event, organised by Charlotte Carver, of Welland, a founder member of the Charity Fairs Association who has her own specialist jewellery and leather goods stall called Scheherazade.
Mrs Carver said: "It was a very happy atmosphere and we want twice as many people to come next year. I want it to become an established event."
Mrs Carver thanked managers at the Three Counties Showground who gave them a charity rate for the hire of the venue.
