LOVE really was in the air for a Worcester couple on St Valentine's Day with a shock proposal through the pages of your Worcester News.
With it being a leap year, Michelle Frost decided to take the plunge and ask her partner of four years Lyndon Oliver to marry her.
And to make it extra special she chose to do it through the pages of your Worcester News, placing a special Valentines message in yesterday's paper.
"I wanted to do something different and special," said the 27-year-old, of Ambleside Drive, Warndon.
"Lyndon had been asking me to marry him almost every day for a while but I kept saying no and making excuses because I had this planned."
Miss Frost's message read: "Lyndon, we've come through the bad times and reached our destination. Will you marry me? Chelle."
It also featured a photo of the couple with their two-year-old son Tyler.
Mr Oliver, aged 36, said he was pleasantly surprised by the message.
"Michelle had told me to get a copy of the newspaper early," he said.
"So I did and when I was reading it I spotted the message.
"It was a real shock but really lovely.
"I took Michelle some breakfast in bed and told her yes'." The couple, whose second child together is due in April, are now planning to marry in Cyprus next year.
"I just need to get Michelle a nice ring now," added Mr Oliver, who runs TJ Motor Factors in Ambleside Drive. "Everyone was really pleased for us and we are both very excited."
The couple were friends for some time before getting together four years ago. Miss Frost has lived above the shop where Mr Oliver works for eight years. Last night they were planning a celebratory meal at Pizza Express in Cathedral Plaza.
