OVER the next few weeks hundreds of school children in Worcester will be learning how to stay healthy and protect themselves at the same time.
Self defence expert Ross Lannoccaro, from Worcester Ju Jutsu Club, will be teaching children the basic skills of this ancient martial art in three Worcester primary schools.
The scheme, developed in partnership with the Droitwich and Worcester city school sport partnership, is aimed at recruiting new members for the St John's-based sports club and also encouraging children to be physically active. Ju Jutsu is a sport that requires hard work, commitment and discipline, and originated in Japan.
The taster sessions are free and will be taking place at Oldbury Park, Dines Green and Pitmaston primary schools.
