MPs and councillors gathered at a Worcester school for a special Question Time-style event.
Sixth Form students from King's School were given the chance to ask probing questions of their local representatives at the political forum.
Worcester City Labour councillor Mark Bayliss, who represents Arboretum, Peter Luff, Conservative MP for Mid-Worcestershire, Dr Richard Taylor, Independent MP for Wyre Forest, and Lorely Burt, Liberal Democrat MP for Solihull, were all grilled at the event.
Liz Allen-Back, the school's head of Critical Thinking and head of Key Skills, chaired the event, along with the school's artist in residence Nathaniel Fowles.
Mrs Allen-Back said: "These students are now, or are coming to the age where they can vote, but many do not know a lot about their local representatives.
" We thought this was a good way for them to find out more about what each party stands for and what the representatives' policies are on different issues."
Coun Bayliss said he was delighted to be invited to the event.
"It is great to see a school taking an interest in politics and engaging their students," he said. "Young people are a very important part of the electorate so it is good for us to get the chance to speak to them."
