MUSICIANS from Worcestershire were among 300 marking the move of Australian soap Neighbours from the BBC to Channel 5 in London.

Eighty young brass instrument players from the county travelled to the capital to take part in the event in Trafalgar Square on Thursday.

They were all members of Worcestershire Youth Brass Band and were invited to help promote the migration of the soap.

Nicola Daw, conductor with the Worcestershire Youth Brass Band, said: "We were invited to go along to the launch and perform with brass band members from across the country. We are going on tour in Australia this summer so it was a good link for us."

The man behind the soap's character Harold Bishop, who plays the tuba, Ian Smith, is currently in London doing panto, which is why Channel 5 decided to host a launch with the youth brass bands.

The 300 brass band members all performed the Neighbours theme tune.
